2011 Edition of Butterflies Go Free
Oh, what a gorgeous afternoon it was in Montreal today. The snow was melting ever so slowly. More people were walking and smiling outside. It feels like spring is right around the corner. In order to get an early taste of our next season, I decided to go to the Montreal Botanical Garden to see their “Butterflies Go Free” exhibition which runs from February 17 to April 25.
One thing you must understand is that I’m terrified of insects. Name them. Spider. Mosquitoes. Bees. Flies. And butterflies? Oh, yes! Those little creep things with wings!
However, ever since having my camera, I have developed this sixth sense that drives me to put my fears behind, get in the motion to make a photograph and press the shutter. Man, was I ever so glad to attend this event! I’ve never heard about it before, and I will definitively return next year…or in a few weeks. Who knows…So whether you’re a photographer or not, I strongly recommend you to take a few hours to attend this event too. And don’t worry…butterflies don’t eat human flesh. They’re beautiful and makes me worship God even more for his creative talents.
All these pictures were taken with my Nikon D90 and a Nikon 105mm f/2.8G macro lens. A gray card was used for color correction in Lightroom.
