Montreal Engagement: Nadine + Joe
It was on a beautiful St-Patrick’s Day afternoon that we met Nadine and Joe together for the first time. Both of them having graduated from McGill University, the idea for their engagement shoot was to bring them to their alta mater and allow us to imagine how these two lovebirds would’ve celebrate their love for each other on the campus.
The circumstances about how the shoot came to be is also worth telling…
Nadine contacted me through my website a few weeks earlier to book an engagement shoot on St-Patrick’s Day, however I’ve never received her email because the contact plugin from my website was defective! Her being out of town, it wasn’t super easy to get in touch as quickly as possible…and when you don’t know that someone wants to communicate with you…well…let’s say that it’s a good thing to have mutual friends. So it was the night before that such a mutual friend told me about the both of them being here in the city over the weekend! As soon as I knew this, I called Nadine and Joe on their cellphone, explained the whole situation and quickly arranged something for them the following day.
I’m glad how the whole shoot turned out given the short period of time to properly prepare for it. Sometimes as a photographer, you just have to show up, focus and put your imagination in first gear to make things happen for your clients. I very much enjoy those positive challenges that photography constantly offers me.
It was a tremendous pleasure to have met both Nadine and Joe. So much so, that at the end of the shoot I even hugged Joe for being wonderful in making things happen that day and super grateful to Nadine for giving me the opportunity to spend a few hours with them. Here are a few pictures from that Irish afternoon…
