24 hours from now, the year 2015 will peek its smile in our lives for another 365 days. Meanwhile, we get to reflect on 2014 because the future has not yet come and the past is still here to lead us into the future. This business has been a blessing to my wife and I and 2014 has been a turning point in the heart of our business. What started a year ago with three weddings booked has transformed itself with nine weddings this year. Along the way, our work has been recognized and rewarded by some of the finest leaders in the industry, such as Rangefinder Magazine for one of our images being a recipient of their international wedding contest, the always resourceful Junebug Weddings awarded us an honorable mention in their Best of the Best Engagement Photos contest, and winning a few other awards with Fearless Photographers and the Professional Wedding Photographers of Canada. Besides all these sweet recognition, what made us the most happy this year was to meet and work with new couples that put their trust in us documenting beautiful moments in unique and important days of their lives.
Such a couple is this one. We met Julie and Kevin a few months ago in Quebec City for their engagement session and kicked it off right then. This beautiful couple from New Brunswick invited their friends, families and loved ones to witness their vows and promises to each other in la Vieille Capitale at the historic Hôtel Château Laurier. Kevin is an officer for the RCMP and seeing him in his uniform brought us some pride that day in knowing that some very fine young men are putting their precious lives to protect this wonderful country. Their wedding was a highlight for our studio because we were also honored in working with the über talented Andréanne Mathieu as her and her team made sure all the wedding preparation was to perfection. The entire bridal party was the pure definition of fun and that shouldn’t come too much of a surprise given the mix of lawyers, RCMP guys and one NHL player (Steve Bernier of the New Jersey Devils) that comprised it.
This is one wedding that fuel us with even more energy and passion to continue capturing precious moments for our esteemed clients because just as the past 365 days has come by, we’re looking forward what the next 365 ones will bring in our lives.
Julie and Kevin, we love you guys very much and are forever grateful for the opportunity to have been witnesses of this beautiful day of your lives.
